At the moment lots of people are struggling to understand that their normal routines are changing. Just telling someone they aren't going to be doing what they normally do next isn't always enough to help them understand. Now/next/then boards can help show what the new routine is visually. The person can keep referring back to it, and can clearly see the routine rather than try and imagine it from what you have said. You can make lots of pictures to represent activities, stick velcro on to the back of the picture and move them around, depending on the routine that day. Make sure you use pictures that makes sense to the person, and make it interesting for them to look at without being distracting. You can just make it a Now/Next board if 3 activities is too much for someone to deal with. ![]()
